Avertizările de urgență continuă să fie emise în Australia. În această dimineață, pericolul a cuprins și statul Victoria, unde a fost decretată stare de dezastru.

CHIȘINĂU, 4 ian – Sputnik. În statul Victoria a fost declarată stare de dezastru, iar în New South Wales - stare de urgență. Autoritățile au anunțat că focul se răspândește rapid, iar persoanele aflate în zonele Mila, Rockton, Nungatta sunt în pericol și nu mai au timp să plece. ​Potrivit Biroului de Meteorologie australian, astăzi va fi o zi cu pericol de incendiu de la gradul sever până la extrem în multe districte. În prezent au loc evacuări în masă, ceea ce ridică temeri legate de o posibilă catastrofă umanitară.

​Premierul australian, Scott Morrison a declarat, astăzi în cadrul unei conferințe de presă că 23 de persoane au murit la nivel național, numărul fiind în creştere faţă de cel raportat la începutul săptămânii.

Peste 1.500 de case au fost distruse de la începutul sezonului de incendii, din septembrie, iar numărul de animale care au murit arse sau asfixiate se ridică la aproape o jumătate de miliard.
